About the Sambar server
Sambar is a professional server for your business and/or home, and what is the most important -- it's very easy to use. The focus of the server is on a simple installation and it has a web based administration.

It is an all-in-one and fully functional Web, HTTP, HTTPS, Mail, XMPP/Jabber, IRC, Syslog, and FTP server.

Just a few features the server offers: Virtual Hosting, Reverse Proxy, Throttling, Webboard, Blog, Calendar, SSL, Remote Admin, JavaEngine, SQLite, ODBC, Webdav, Webmail, Search Engine, RSS feedreader
and more... It supports Perl, Php, Python and MySQL.

Be your own ISP and host a server for your business, family or friends, see www.land10.nl.
The free version contains all features needed to host a website with your cable or asdl internet connection.

I (Steffen) am not paid and do not work for Sambar; I provide news and forum sections for support. If you find this site and my support useful, please express your satisfaction with a PayPal donation. Your donations will help to keep this site alive and well. Thank you!

    Sambar Server being discontinued...
Tod Sambar writes on Monday, 31 December '07

I have great appreciation for all those users who have supported and encouraged the development of the Sambar Server over the years. But the time has come to move on to other pursuits. I do not forsee any future releases or support for the Sambar Server. My sincere apologies toward those that this inconveniences. The technologies developed with the server will most certainly live on. I hope to offer some new and innovative products in the future.

    Tod Sambar

    Note:
It is advised to migrate to Apache. I have a forum at www.apachelounge.com which has quite a lot former Sambar users. You all are welcome in the Apache Lounge.

Tod Sambar writes on Thursday, 4 January '07

I put the 7.0 beta 4 release up last night. The upgrade can be retrieved by Pro licensees from the System Administration pages. This release has primarily bug fixes over the beta 3 release. I hope to have 7.0 production out in February. The Linux beta 4 release will be out this weekend.

    Happy New Year!

    7.0 Beta 3 Release
Tod sambar writes on Monday, 27 November '06

The 7.0 beta 3 release is now available. Sambar Technologies has returned to the Visual Studios 6.0 compiler used in previous releases after numerious complaints resulting from the new DLL versioning and 64-bit funcionality in Visual Studios 2005 on Windows 2000 systems.

The beta is distributed using the System Administration "Update" tab (for Pro Licensees).
